About Licypriya Foundation
The Licypriya Foundation is a youth- and child-led nonprofit organization founded by Licypriya Kangujam, one of the world’s youngest climate activists, in 2022. Based in India, the foundation is dedicated to addressing the global climate crisis, promoting peace and justice, empowering young voices, and advancing sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The foundation works at the intersection of climate action, child rights, education, peacebuilding, and humanitarian response, with a focus on amplifying the leadership of children and youth in shaping a better, safer, and more equitable world.
Through advocacy, campaigns, policy engagement, and grassroots actions, the Licypriya Foundation seeks to build a movement of informed and empowered young changemakers. The foundation has reached over 40 countries through its initiatives, including school climate strikes, disaster relief drives, tree plantation programs, international conferences, and educational outreach.
With a mission to create a world where every child has the right to clean air, a safe environment, quality education, and a peaceful future, the Licypriya Foundation continues to be a bold and visionary force for global change, driven by children—led by example.
Licypriya Foundation is registered under Article 64 (A) of Indian Trust Act 1882 of the Constitution of India with Regd. No. IV820 of 2022.
President of Timor-Leste and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Jose Ramos Horta had launched Licypriya Foundation on 21st May 2022.
